Let's Start Your Viewing Blogs

All Classes

Now that you have a shiny brand new LAUSD email account, let's get you started on YOUR Viewing Blogs.

First, if you lose your Acceptable Use Policy forms, you can download it here:
Just turn in page 3 & 4 of the form.

Second, before writing anything, and to avoid looking... well, not so smart, here are some links that will help improve your writing immediately. Although there is some pretty neat stuff at the Reference Guides at kids.lausd.net, I like the following guides so much more.

Now, here is an example of my Viewing Blog that I will keep along with you.

Then, head over to tumblr.com to start your Viewing Blog. You need only put in your new email address, a password of your own, and your mymail username to sign up.

Make sure you put your full name in the title of the blog, (i.e., "Jane Smith's Viewing Blog")

Finally, your first entry should be a brief synopsis of On the Waterfront and a detailed account of any cinematic techniques you noticed in the film as well as a few sentences on your opinion of the film.

Wrapping Cable

Periods 1-3

If you happen to forget our lesson on wrapping cable, here is a link that should help remind you how to wrap cable using the "over/under" method. It's a YouTube video, so you'll have to watch it at home. There are plenty of videos on the subject. This one was the shortest and most straight forward. Enjoy!
